1.What is Bottom Fishing?
Bottom Fishing is a common technique of fishing that is used to catch fish that are found near the sea floor. The main aim of this technique is to take the bait to the bottom of the sea and present it in a tempting way to the fish and lure them to the hook. The line is led by a heavy lead sinker that is followed by the bait and hook. The difference between this type of fishing and trolling is that the boat is stopped and drifting, as opposed to driving around. The fish you’ll be catching are also primarily smaller than the fish you’d catch trolling, but the success rate is substantially higher. 2. What types of fish will we be able to catch? Various types of Hawaiian Snappers, Wrasse, Jacks, Triggerfish, and Goatfish. 3. We have young kids, is this something they can do? Absolutely! Our charter is a great way to introduce a child to fishing. Simply because of the hands-on interaction actively trying to catch fish. The consistent “fish on” action keeps them engaged throughout the trip, so there's not a lot of down time for them to get bored. We also provide children's safety vests as well as life jackets for the little ones. The minimum age for kids is 2 years old. 5. What do I need to bring? All tackle and fishing equipment will be provided. Saltwater Fishing License is not required in Hawaii. Bring any medication that is needed for survival such as insulin, epi pen, or other medication you need. Hat, sunglasses, footwear, and towel. Also bring a cooler to carry home any fish you'd like to keep. 6. Are we guaranteed to catch fish? What is your fish policy? Here at EhuKai Fishing we offer a 100% catch guarantee on our 2HR Bottom Fishing charters. We put this offer there because we want to insure you, the client that we will not just take you for a boat ride and collect your money at the end of it. We will try everything in our power to get you on the fish. Our Fish Policy is that you can take the fish home if you’d like. All we ask is that you respect the fish and come prepared to haul the fish away properly. Especially for larger fish. You’ll need hands to carry the fish, a large cooler to store the fish and lots of ice to keep the fish fresh. We do provide a processing option if you’d like the Captain to filet and package the fish for you. Please message for more details. 7. I’m worried about getting motion sickness. Is there anything I can do to prevent getting seasick? There are many things that can help lessen the odds of getting seasick.
8. What do you do if the weather is bad? Our captain absolutely cares about your overall safety and comfort as well as for the boat and our crew. Weather calls are at the captain’s discretion and guest will be notified the day before departure if your trip is cancelled due to weather. 9. Are there any restrictions or anyone not allowed on your tours? For the safety of Mom and baby, we do not allow pregnant women on our tours. We also don't allow anyone who's recently had surgery or has severe back problems. 10. What is your cancellation policy? Please plan your trip accordingly. We have a 72-hour cancellation policy. If you're a no show or you decide to change plans at the last minute you will be charged the full price. We've reserved the boat, as well as our Captain/Crew's time for you when you book a trip. Anything less than that doesn't allow us to rebook the boat for another charter. If the trip is cancelled by the captain due to weather, you’ll have the option to reschedule or get a full refund. |
